Types of Blasting and Coating Services
We accommodate an eclectic range of blasting and coating projects throughout East Anglia, the South East and the East Midlands. Ensuring the best results are always achieved, we provide a bespoke approach, tailored to the surface’s needs using our wide range of services.
Blast Cleaning
Many of our blasting services, such as those for brick or stonework, can be performed at the site of the surface for convenience, whilst many smaller components, such as oak beams and motorbikes can be blasted at our dedicated in-house facility. We use a variety of abrasives to achieve the specific finish required, including Australian garnet, copper slag, aluminium oxide, stone grit, recycled glass and glass bead.
Powder Coating
A more environmentally friendly approach to product finishing, our powder coating services exceed many national environmental protection standards – minimising wastage and the presence of Volatile Organic Compounds whilst being tough and durable. This modern approach to coating can be used in place of liquid painting and curing, reducing the negative environmental impact of VOCs, whilst producing the same brilliant results.
Protective Coating
For surfaces consistently exposed to harsh weather conditions or high temperatures, a coating of protective, resistant liquid metal substances can be the key to avoiding corrosion and ensuring long-term durability. Other benefits of this service include increased conductivity, enhanced friction properties and improved decorative finishes.
From domestic jobs such as blasting for bike frames, garden furniture and timber cleaning, to large-scale, corporate affairs including bridges and underground car parks, there’s an option for all amongst our in-house and mobile blasting and surface revival services.

Blasting & Coating FAQs
What are blasting and coating?
The perfect combination of preparation and finishing services to achieve the best possible outcome for surfaces of all sizes. A specifically chosen blasting method, appropriate to the substrate’s needs, is selected and applied. Once the surface has been worked on it will be either left as is and returned to its original place. For pieces that require colour or protection, they will be either powder coated or protective coated. Using blasting for preparation creates minuscule etching into the surface to allow for coatings to adhere to the top layer as best as possible.
What is commercial blast cleaning?
Commercial blast cleaning is the process of removing contaminants from a surface including corrosion, rust, oil and old coatings whilst allowing 33% of stains and streaks to remain. Keeping surfaces clean and free of anything that may impede operation, will prolong its life and how well it performs, however for environments and atmospheres that are non-corrosive this lighter approach can be taken. Blast cleaning comes in many forms and can have a bespoke approach to cater for the surface's exact needs; commercial-grade blast cleaning is commonly used for products that will be repainted or coated.
Why is blasting done before coating?
Blasting and coating are services that go hand in hand; whether it be cleaning buildings free of algae and dirt before a fresh coat of paint or resurfacing machinery parts to then be fireproofed with intumescent paint. Coatings are professionally applied outer layers onto surfaces for decorative and preventive purposes. If a surface is not sufficiently prepared prior to the coating process, it might not adhere properly or fail altogether - making the process a waste of time and resources. Dirt, oils and previous, aged coatings should be removed to ensure a smooth and debris-free application.
Is blasting and coating bad for the environment?
Such an abrasive approach to cleaning surfaces may seem like it would be damaging to the environment, however, blasting and coating are more eco-friendy than you think! Most abrasives that are used can be recycled once used for another application. The same goes for powder coating; as the metals and powder are electrically charged, overspray is very limited but any that does miss the mark can be scooped up and used again. For abrasives that produce large amounts of secondary media, such as dust, blast cabinets and rooms can be used at in-house facilities to reduce the spread of said dust into the environment.
Compared to paint coatings, powder coating offers a no VOC approach - making it safer for the environment as well as those that apply it. Paints often include harmful, toxic ingredients that emit chemicals into the atmosphere as well as contribute to landfills. Powder coating’s primary ingredient polymer powder is inert, so when stored and used gives off no toxins.
